I grew up in east Texas and enlisted in the US Army Infantry at 18. While in Afghanistan, I saw how “patriotism” was used to serve corporate profit and not freedom. I lost any love of country, until I began studying the founding fathers and principles. I realized that the US had not lived up to its own values, but believed with a little work it could.
I left the military and eventually settled in Greenville, South Carolina.
Since then I have dedicated myself to helping my community, fighting for justice, and speaking for the unhoused.
